My name is Chris Heier and I love to take photographs - of everything. When I am not taking pictures I am catering to the whims of two wonderful children and one lovely wife. I was born and raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northern State University. In 2004 I left full-time employment to become a stay-at-home dad. I began my photographic career doing mainly landscapes and nature photos which evolved into a self-published calendar titled “Aberdeen’s Outskirts.” I volunteer services and donate photos for South Dakota Safe Childbirth Options (SDSCO) to use in their publications. Some of my other projects include: Chronicling Livestock Auctions for Bieber Red Angus Ranch as well as doing the photography for their sale ads. Composing and photographing a series of abstract shots of a vintage speedboat. And, of course, portraiture.
